Berlin, September 21, 2022: When Anita Gödiker founded Satellite Office in Berlin 25 years ago, terms such as “co-working” and “flexible workspaces” didn’t even exist. She is a pioneer in her industry. Even 25 years ago, Internet stars such as Paulus Neff from Pixelpark, Joel Berger from Myspace and the Samwer brothers with their Jamba ringtone team found their way to Satellite Office. To this day, the shooting stars of various industries can be found in the corridors: Bankers, management consultants, politicians, lobbyists, coaches, FinTechs as well as many SMEs and individual entrepreneurs.

In the mid-1990s, Satellite Office founder Anita Gödiker was inspired by the huge construction sites around Potsdamer Platz in the capital. At the time, she asked herself where the many temporary project offices were located. In 1997, she finally founded Satellite Office and in 25 years has developed it into the leading provider of flexible offices, workspaces and Conference Rooms – starting in the mid-range segment and today in the luxury segment.

Its success confirms the path it has taken: the company is now expanding internationally under the Satellite Office brand, based on a long-term strategy. Starting with a single location at Checkpoint Charlie in Berlin, the company now offers 15 locations in Germany, Switzerland and, from 2023, Italy. This year will see the opening in Geneva, the first in French-speaking Switzerland. This will be followed next year by Stuttgart, another location in Zurich and one in Milan. Around 70,000 people now work temporarily in one of the 500 offices and open spaces, bistros and lounge areas of Satellite Office. Satellite Office itself has a team of 120 employees.

“We are growing steadily while remaining down-to-earth,” says Anita Gödiker, founder, owner and managing director, describing the company’s path. “The flat company structures keep the company agile even in turbulent times and ensure continuous growth without investors,” she adds. Having grown organically, the company is now one of the strong but rock-solid partners for SMEs, the financial world, consultants and corporations.

Celebrate successes

This week, the anniversary became a jubilee celebration: Anita Gödiker celebrated her success with over 200 invited guests at the Satellite Office Haus Cumberland on Kurfürstendamm in Berlin. A coffee table book with a retrospective of the last 25 years was designed to mark the anniversary. Available in all Satellite Offices. In addition to large pictures, there are stories from partners and customers from a quarter of a century.
