Where Marlene Dietrich once strolled across the carpet, it will soon be possible to work flexibly.

Berlin, September 24, 2020: The special Wilhelminian-style property at Kurfürstendamm 15 in Berlin is also known beyond the capital’s borders. Satellite Office will be opening a “flexible workspace” here in just a few weeks. “It will be the house of stories,” says Anita Gödiker, founder and Managing Director of Satellite Office, just four weeks before the opening. Satellite Office is the luxury brand among flexible workspace providers and operates a total of eleven locations in Germany and Switzerland. Four of these are in Satellite Office’s home city of Berlin.

The ensemble of buildings on the lower Kurfürstendamm at the Kaiser Wilhelm Memorial Church tells a good piece of Berlin history in the old West Berlin and is therefore an important contemporary witness. From 1917-1986, the famous Berlin pub “Mampes Gute Stube” was located in the future Satellite Office premises. In 1926, the “Gloria Berlin” was opened in this area as a luxury movie theater. In April 1930, the world premiere of “The Blue Angel” with Marlene Dietrich as Lola Lola took place here.

Elegant offices, fireplace lounge, pureSilent® cubes and coworking

From October 15, 2020, Satellite Office will be managing the entire building at Kurfürstendamm 15, from half of the second floor to the top floor. The building was completely refurbished from 2017 to 2020 and lovingly restored to its original state. 43 luxury offices, three conference rooms, a fireplace room, various silent cubes, several bistro lounges and open space areas for coworking will be created on 2,300 sqm. A total of 140 high-quality workspaces will be created in separate areas in the heart of the capital.

Luxurious interior design with many “silent elements”

The interior design picks up on the founding style of the building with ornaments and stucco work and combines it with the modern “silent elements” of Satellite Office: protected seating areas, soundproof and translucent privacy screens, air-conditioned telephone boxes and cubes. The color scheme of the building, which has been faithfully restored to its original state, is as magnificent as the stories that took place here. Purple and gold meet various shades of gray, red, black and taupe. The intensity of the colors reflects the luxury of 1920s Berlin. The interior of the building does not celebrate its restraint, but rather its grandiose history as the former luxury cinema “Gloria Palast” and later also as the birthplace of the famous bitter liqueur “Mampe Halb&Halb”. The extraordinary interior design bears the typical signature of Anita Gödiker, demonstrating courage and a great passion for history.
