Friendship Award 2024 of the BCCG

Great station at the Brandenburg Gate! The British Ambassador Jill Gallard and the British Chamber Of Commerce Germany (BCCG) jointly hosted the presentation of the “Friendship Award” at the DZ Bank. This award is intended to honor special services to British-German friendship. As a sponsor and supporter, SATELLITE OFFICE was in the front row.

This year, the Lifetime Award went posthumously to punk and fashion icon Dame Vivian Westwood. As a member of the Berlin Academy of Arts, she had contributed a great deal to understanding, cooperation and understanding between the British and Germans. Her husband, the Tyrolean artist Andreas Kronthaler, accepted the award. A cinematic retrospective showed the great influence the inventor of punk had not only in the fashion world.

The British painter, photo and video artist Tacita Dean was also delighted to receive the award – as a member of the Academy of Arts.

Both artists have not only made a special effort to promote good relations between the two countries – their social commitment is at least as remarkable. Both are and have been committed worldwide to helping the weakest members of society and giving them a voice. An example by which society can be measured.

Among others, Minister of State for Culture Claudia Roth, Ambassador Jill Gallard, Senator for Culture Joe Chialo and fashion designer Anja Gockel reminded the audience of the importance of the honored ladies.

CEO Anita Gödiker gathered selected guests around the SATELLITE OFFICE table: Winemaker Maike Heil (Samus Gallus), style and beauty icon Laila Hamidi, art expert Petra Becker (International Art Bridge), coffee roaster Elisabeth Andraschko-Graf (Andraschko), photo artist Joseph Fischnaller, presenter and film producer Norbert Dobeleit (Lucky7even).

Presenter Mareille Höppner hosted the evening and Lets Dance judge Motsi Mabuse skillfully swung the hammer at the charity raffle.
